8:30 am – Depart The Westin Calgary, 320 4 Ave SW, Calgary, AB T2P 2S6
9:15 am – Antler Valley Farm – The first stop of the day is at the McAllister, 5th generation farm. This 4000 acre grain farm is located in the Central Alberta region just north of Innisfail. Antler Valley Farm is among very few farms that, to this day, are operating on the original homestead, in the same family name, and the same type of farming operation.
10:30 am – Red Shed Malting – Discover how the Hamill’s family farming operation became one of the first in Canada to have traceable speciality malt. With one of the only small roasters in Alberta, Red Shed is taking the craft brewing industry by storm by offering the complete grain to glass package by growing and malting their own barley.
12:00 pm – Catered steak lunch served at Red Shed Malting
1:15 pm – Jason Lenz’s Farm – Enjoy the scenery and tour a mixed farm operation all while learning about different barley varieties used for making beer.
3:30 pm – Tool Shed Brewing Co. – Explore how your favourite beverage, beer is made and visit one of the first Alberta craft brewing start-ups Tool Shed Brewing Company for an intimate brewery tour with co-owner, Graham Sherman as your guide. Attendees will also get to sample the final product while sharing the day’s events with new friends.
6:00 pm – Arrive back at the hotel
